"Songs of Home" by Lunar Philharmonic creates a mood that is thick with
tension and primal ooze. It's natural rhythms are exciting and visceral.
These eight tracks create the soundtrack to the "Movie of the Mind". It
transports you to another world - a dark and eerie landscape. "Ninety" and
"Galloping Dead Fishmen" are my personal favorites. A disc worth owning.

Fantastic American duo of Joe DiMattia on keyboards and Michael Scott on
drums. Scott plays a huge kit that enables him to play a wide range of both
percussive sounds and powerful drumming. DiMattia plays keyboards that range
from lush symphonic to Emerson styled keyboard 'pomp'. In their native land
of America this duo seem to be hardly known and that is a big shame because
the progressive community is missing out on a great duo who sound as good as
any fully manned symphonic/keyboard based progressive line-up. Highly
recommended.

This is a true excursion into the essence of rhythm and sound. Under the name
Lunar Philharmonic, drummer Michael Scott and keyboardist Joe DiMattia have
created a world of exotic beat patterns surrounded by waves of aural
atmospheres. The combination mixes into an almost visual landscape, revealing
layers of depth within a simple package of two players.
The driving force of "Ninety Five" segues into the epic, bleak emptiness of
"Ninety Three," which in turn gives way to the staccato edge of "Ninety Nine."
There's an industrial harshness to "One O Three," which bites with a metallic
edge, while the tribal sounds of "Ninety" are very organic and earthy.
An excellent lesson in the powerful combination of the subtle and sublime.
